CRACK co-op: 1 to 4 players online

CRACK supports solo play and online co-op for up to four people. Launch-week patches cover Steam timeouts, a 30-second give-up, and Offline Mode.

Session size

The Steam short description calls CRACK a 1–4 player co-op incremental adventure. Store categories include Single-player, Multi-player, Co-op, and Online Co-op. The October 23 post says “play solo or with up to 3 friends” and later “one egg, four coworkers.” The October 27 launch post repeats “1–4 player online co-op” and tells you to bring friends.

Platforms on the store page are Windows, macOS, and Linux, covered on release and platforms.

Launch-week connection fixes

  • v1.0.31 (October 26) increased the Steam timeout from 10 seconds to 30 seconds “to help with dropped connections.”
  • v1.0.35 (October 27) says hosting and joining give up after 30 seconds instead of hanging on “Connecting…” when no Steam connection is found. The same patch says snake turns now respond properly in multiplayer, and that top speed was lowered to make an achievement easier.
  • v1.0.35 also fixed calcite not appearing for hosts on a few AMD and Intel graphics cards. If you host, that line matters more than it does for a guest. The follow-up in 1.0.43 says some of those missing calcite veins were still a problem and were fixed again.

If the session stops on Connecting, Rafoli’s note says it gives up after 30 seconds.

Solo play

Single-player is a store category. v1.0.43 adds an Offline Mode option “to play solo without a connection.” In Offline Mode, the pause menu pauses the game.

Chill Mode, also in 1.0.43, is separate: no bedtime, easier puzzles, bots that do not break, and an egg that gets agitated half as fast. It is on modes and controls.

The crack-and-upgrade cycle is on the core loop. The beginner guide is the shorter version of the job. A digger, scaffolder, and sedation split is on co-op roles. Invite wording from Rafoli is on the launch week page. Family Sharing is on the FAQ.
